One of the things I was given this year was a belt/disc sander combo...one of those 1x30 belt/5 -inch disc thingys, brand name "Stark". Anyone ever hear of that brand? I can find basically nothing on it as far as reviews are concerned...IMO it looks like a cheap clone of one of those Grizzly units. The assembly instructions were in very poor grammar and not specific at all; no parts list, and I even had to take it apart to expose the inner motor housing, as I heard a rattling sound like a loose screw...found that two of the motor mount screws were completely loose and rattling around inside the housing! Once re-assembled I was able to track the belt and square the two worktop tables... tried it out on a scrap of bocote/wenge cutout left over from a boandsaw box project. Probably not the best choice of material to test, but it gives me an idea of what I can probably do - definitely not a heavy-duty tool for thick hardwood sanding...
