Greetings, I discovered this forum yesterday. I live near Fort Worth, Texas and have been woodworking most of my life, but most seriously since about 30 years ago when I got my first stationary tool, a Sears radial arm saw. I built a shop about 20 years ago and now have too many tools (can there really be such a thing as too many tools). Ten years ago, I got into woodturning and it has since taken over most of my woodworking.

Here is a shot of me turning a large box elder bowl. I started with a 55 pound piece of wood . The largest bowl is 18 inches and I cored a 14 inch bowl out of the same piece. On nice days, I like to roll the lathe outdoors.

Welcome Bill! I'm a little SE of you.
And Nope! No such thing as too many tools--it's nice to have one for the need that hasn't arrived yet.

Think I may have some lathe envy too.......
