Delta doesn't make a larger lathe. I would look at the Jet 1642 or the Nova 16/24. Both are great lathes for considerably less money than the Powermatic.

I have the Nova 1624-44 and it's was a GREAT buy/value for me! Changing speed is not a problem--but you can go to DVR-electronic speed control for more $. The lathe has handled all I've asked it to do.
