Hi all. I am new here and basically new to making anything with wood. I have 4 sons and am a single parent so it is time to learn. In a couple weeks we are going to "try" to build a cage for my sons snake and if we are successful will build a cage for the ferrets as well.

Thanks for letting me join!

They have snakes in Oklahoma , I reckon if you can't cage the snakes or the ferret you have some problems on your hands. Did you say single father of 4 boys ? Here is my first tip (not a Dad myself, so take it for what it is worth) I would build a cage for the boys .

Oh and welcome, don't let me ruffle your feathers I am a joker.

Nope, single mother of 4 boys and yes we have snakes here. LOL!! It is a Columbian Red Tailed Boa and is over 5 foot long. It is in a large aquarium now but really needs something bigger. The ferrets also have a ferret cage but would like for them to have something bigger.

As far as the cage for the boys...is that legal? If so then that would really help to have a place to put them. HAHA!! The oldest will be 26 next month, the next one is 22. They are grown and have been out of the house for a few years now. Then there is an 18 year old, and something happened because the last one is only 4 years old. I was almost home free too. LOL!!

Well it is better than the trantulas and scorpions they have snuck in. Just a couple months ago one brought 3 black widows home and then lost them in his room!! UGH! Sprayed everywhere about a week later when it slipped out what had happened. No telling where they were by then.
