I built a new table for my bench top drill press. I used the plans found in ShopNotes Issue #94.

Here are a few pics. I uploaded more pics to an album here.

Bob you could make just the table and the filler pieces for underneath. Put 5/6 inch inserts in the bottom of the table so you can bolt it through the metal base from below.

It would work really nice on a floor model but so far, I haven't had a project that required that kind of clearance.

I may have to drill a few holes in the side of the box because the dust collector was going crazy until I drilled through the insert. I was making an insert for sanding and needed to cut a larger opening so I was using a hole saw. All of the dust disappeared as soon as I cut through the insert...and the ShopVac sighed a big sigh of relief! :)
