Anyone look over the new delta saw? They sell it at lowes. Looks pretty interesting.

Okay the stock Delta blade is part #DPEC002960 according to the online parts list. Seems to be selling for $70-80 special order, but no further info on it.
Ha....now I'm wondering if they're recommendation of minimum kerf of 0.10" is so that they can sell lots of $5 blades for $70-$80.

So I have this brand new never been used Delta blade for sale. It's real shiny! Let's start the bidding at $50...

It'll make a nice shop clock...?
This was a wee bit of an upgrade. Ha!

I agree totally. Looks to me like you will really enjoy it over the old saw.

Enjoy your new saw TheLt. I'm enjoying mine. I'll be starting on a large kitchen cabinet build Friday. 13 cabinets and a work island, which should give my Delta a workout. I'll post a review on it after I get some time on it. So far I think it was a good choice for me. I think you'll like yours too.

I installed the bottom legs and rollers while it was in the box, then called a buddy over and we stood it right side up. Then he went back to work and I did all the rest. I made a few cuts yesterday evening and I love it. I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

FYI - I bought the Rigid 4512 13 amp professional table saw about a year ago. It's heavy duty, solid, accurate and makes great cuts. I paired it with the newer Diablo 60 tooth blade with their new cut technology and the cuts are absolutely incredible. Example - I ran an 8 foot long sheet of 3/4" plywood through at 45 degrees and the cut was so sharp, true and smooth that sanding would just have made it rougher. I spent $499 on the saw and it's worth every penny I paid, escpecially compared to the smaller portable versions at just about the same price.

On the other hand I've had parts on back order from Delta for over 9 months now...the new owners are having some real problems at Delta these days.

Hello knotscott
What blade would you recommend to replace this Delta blade. With the riving knife being .087" I don't feel I want to go much thinner than the .102" thickness of the Delta blade.
Thank you

Which blade you choose depends on what your trying to do. Separate rip and cross cut blades will cut better than a single combo blade....but will cost twice as much initially.

Excellent Choice for Crosscutting....

Excellent Choice for Ripping....

If you prefer a single blade.....this one would be a good choice too..

All are thicker than .087.....so you'd be good with any of them.

Hi Ed - Do you want a single all purpose blade or a couple of dedicated task specific blades? What's your budget?

At this point a general purpose blade would be what I would want. I'd like a decent quality blade, but don't want to spend $110 either. Something in the $60 range is in my budget.

That LU83R010 is one that I've been eyeing.

56 bucks with free shipping....

If you're in the market for a rip blade, think about an FTG(flat tooth grind, makes a flat kerf). Great for quickie dados and half-lap joints without having to whip out the dado stack.

The LU83 is a good choice. For a bit more the Infinity Combomax Lite 010-150 is the best of the 50T combo blades I've used to date (on sale for $60)....gives the Forrest WWII a run for money, an is extremely easy to get great results with. The Freud Fusion 40T TK could be an excellent choice too if you don't rip lots of thick dense material....it's a bit fussier about setup and is a bit more prone to burning in thicker rips, but can yield excellent results ($69). The Irwin Marples 50T is a solid choice too...easier to use, easy to buy (< $40 at Lowes).
Thanks

Thanks loads guys!! Man you guys sure know your blades. It's what makes the forum so great. A lot of experienced knowledge, but more so, the willingness to share it. Thanks for your input, I'll be online after the Easter holiday ordering blades.
regards
Ed
