Looked for a DIY version of the tool bar and found this:

A competent machinist could make a bracket and add the tool bar if provided with some "measured drawings" in a bit over an hour. JMO observation by looking at it here:

I watched the video and got an idea:
A DIY version could be a home shop project.
I don't envision the bracket being that complicated and it would just rest on "stand off" bolts in the slots already provided.
Off the shelf bolts or threaded rod would provide height adjustment.
Bar stock or a long bolt with all but 3/4" of thread cut off would be the tool rest.
You could assemble 50% of it with ordinary hardware. You can also cut 1" aluminum on your wood cutting bandsaw to get the cirved portion of the bracket. Drill press and1/4" bit for the holes. Knobs with threaded studs come from Woodcraft for jigs.

For what it's worth, I've made or modified any number of machines and tools over the years.

I cannot thank you enough for your very helpful post. I'm not shy about making my own rigs when necessary. However, my WS3000 will not be delivered for another two weeks or so. That said, I just contacted my cousin who is a machinist and he is willing to make the entire bracket. Now all I need is the machine so I can give him the specs.

I was not expecting this to happen, but this may be a very good solution for those of us who need this bracket.

I sincerely appreciate your help.

When we can't find it we end up making it! I remember you from years ago, unless I'm mistaken. Are you an architect? I'm a former Chicagoan myself and went to schools there all over that city as a kid. I graduated high school from Lane Tech with a study emphasis in architecture which I carried to the University of Illinois. I gave up on that and changed to Industrial Design, got my MFA.

Years ago. Indeed. Yes, my wife and I lived in Oak Park. We left there - Thank You, Lord!!! - in 2014. It's amazing how time flies. While I miss some of our friends in the area (and the beautiful trees), I do not miss the crime and mindless politics.

I used to live in Deerfield back in the mid-60's, so that area of the country has always been my 'second home', so to speak. Life was obviously much different back in those days. However, IMHO, nothing beats living on 4 acres in a warmer, snow-less clime. I actually like the snow, but shoveling two feet of snow off of sidewalks and steps for months on end did give me pause.

After moving back we build a glorified two-car garage which is my shop. Life is good. I have not heard from my machinist cousin today, so perhaps he is having second thoughts on fabricating this attachment. It seems that the Tormek patent has expired because I have noticed a lot of Tormek wannabe's on the market. Mine is the ancient SuperGrind 2000 which works perfectly for my needs. The Work Sharp with the tool bar attachment would really help grind/hone some of my gouges especially the v-tools. I plan to slow it down to about 100 rpm because I think it runs a bit too fast for my needs. The out-of-box speed may be fine for chisels, but chisel sharpening is not why I purchased this sharpener. I have always used stones for chisel sharpening.
