I don't have much experience with woodworking beyond refinishing already completed projects, but I would like to build a new solid walnut tv stand for my living room. It's going to be something very basic like these two examples:

Basically just a small cabinet with two closed doors and one shelf that could support my 46" tv. at a normal height.

Since I don't have much experience cutting wood I was planning to source the walnut at my local lumber supplier and have them make the necessary cuts, and then finish and assemble the piece myself.

My question is, where can I find a good set of plans for a basic project like this that will be as fool proof as possible for a novice and is there anything wrong with my approach?

I considered just looking for used pieces on craigslist that I could refinish but they all had open shelving and I wanted something of quality, solid walnut with closed doors.

Thanks for your help.
