First off, I'm not sure what kind of wood this is, so I'm hoping someone can tell based on the photos. It's very hard and heavy.
Second, you can see in the photos that the table has developed some spot-staining and I'm not sure the best way to address.
Lastly, wondering what sort of ongoing upkeep, cleaning and maintenance you experts might recommend? Mineral vs beeswax, maybe I'm off-base with both?

I absolutely love this table and I'm afraid to do anything other than wipe it down with a damp soapy towel.

This is a better picture than your other thread on the same table. It is best not to start 2 threads on the same subject.
