So I picked up a Dewalt 735 planer last week for $300 bux. Money well spent.

I got so excited that I glued up a random panel of cutoffs - not in a great pattern. I should have been more discerning. Oh well. Still effin fun tho!

Still having some issues with alignment of pieces. I need to come up with a clamping strategy based on what I have here and can easily make.

Any way, I'm excited. I've been getting questions about these for over a year and now I can answer. Plus they'll make great gifts for my inlaws and friends.

Looks good Gideon.

I have only made one end grain and I did not find out my blade was not exactly 90 deg to the table until after I ripped the slab, flipped the pieces and then noticed an alignment problem, which in my case was the blade and not clamping. The alignment was out in the dry fit in my case.

FYI, this software, CBDesigner is really useful to decide on a pattern and provide cutting details, materials needed etc. Highly recommended.
