Wow, only your second bowl? Well done!

One of the hardest things to do is make the profile a completely smooth curve from the base to the rim. If you look at the second pic, on the right hand side you can see it sort of goes straight for a bit, then changes to a curve up the the rim ... it's not easy to spot this when the piece is on the lathe though.

I noticed that curve too, of course after I pulled if off the lathe and started the inside. I thought about making a template to check that curve but got carried away making chips.

Thanks all for the nice comments. So much to learn and there's so many examples and tips here.
