This is my second bowl. I'd like to spend more time doing this fun stuff but my time gets allocated otherwise. If I did, I might actually do alright.
Purple Heart and Hickory with Tung Oil finish.
One of the hardest things to do is make the profile a completely smooth curve from the base to the rim. If you look at the second pic, on the right hand side you can see it sort of goes straight for a bit, then changes to a curve up the the rim ... it's not easy to spot this when the piece is on the lathe though.
