I was asked to go ahead and put my goblet up. This is my first one I've done. Finished last week. I'm a newbie turner. 30 years ago I turned what seemed like all the time. Just getting back into it.
4.5 inches high, Spalted Walnut.
Nice job, you did well, no need to feel outclassed with that goblet. Looks fine. One thing if it were me I would of tried to make it thinner for a goblet, especially the stem. Keep turning and keep posting neighbor. Check my gallery out if you would. Mitch
Thanks for the input. I didn't bring the tailstock up to it and just tried cutting the stem until it got to wobbly. I got a little bit of advise on how to how it better with the tail stock... I'm still a bit confused.
I'm glad you posted, the goblet looks great. It looks a lot better than my first attempt. Always ask yourself, is there anything I could have done to make my turning look better. Then go ahead and try it, always try to go outside your current envelope of skills.
