That's still better than me. I have to make a separate post for every pic. My iPad won't post more than one at once and even that's an ordeal since I first have to rotate them upside down and save them, then rotate them back right side up again and save, then I can post them and have them come out right side up when posted. This is whenever I take pics on my cell phone and email them to myself so I can open them on the iPad and save. It saves them right side up but always posts them sideways unless I do the rotating and saving first. I figure it's the technology of the iPad not being compatable. I have various problems on other sites and the iPad always seems to be the link. I would just take pics with the iPad and maybe avoid this but the thing takes such poor quality grainy photos that I can't stand it.

If you are uploading to an album here, you upload the first four and save, then repeat until you have all the pics uploaded. Then its just a matter of writing your post and pasting the IMG code from the picture into the post. You are allowed 16 images per post. That includes smilie faces and any graphics in your sig.

If you are trying to use the attachment function.... I still haven't figured that one out and I've been trying for over two years. It can't be all that hard, I'm just struck on occasion with a case of terminal stupid.
Johnnie52. Please go over that again for me. I have made lots of albums and like you said you do albums 4 at a time up to 100 pics per album. When I post to threads though I can only do 5. Four are straight up "browse" for pics on my computer button, and after you do that you can do one "bonus" pic.

You mentioned pasting image code directly into the post. I have not tried that yet but will soon. Maybe here to see if it works. How do I view my album, get the image code for a pic and add them to a thread that I am writing? I am not sure where the image codes are.

Thanks,

John
OK I just tried to write this post with pics. Here is what happened. I started writing then went to my albums, selected an album, saw the pic I wanted, found a link that said "copy image location", selected it, but when I tried to go back to my unfinished post by hitting the back bar it was gone. I am trying to see how I can write a thread and bounce back and forth to it to get pictures without losing what I am adding. I hope I am explaining my situation clearly.

Ok. I just created an album of 7 pics called "Christmas gifts for my kids" I can click on photos to see it. Now How do I add it to a post is the question?

I Just attempted to attach a pic from my album using the URL address under the pic after I open the album. It says the image is too large. I let the web site downsize the pics when I created the album. So I'm stumped!!

Well I'll be!! that was too easy. Just copy & paste from my album.
Thanks you everyone for your input.

Here's another try

This is the Site Help forum sticky thread on posting pictures.

Limited to 5 pictures in a thread unless you link from an album, then limited only by overall number of characters in a thread. I forget this limit.

You can copy and paste from one into the text of the other. I do it all the time, it's very handy.
You could always open up another instance of Woodworkingtalk.com, browse until you find your pic. Right click, copy the image location, then switch to the other window and paste the info into your post. The Windows clipboard will hold your info across multiple applications.

Worked for me.

Good luck.

Here is how I do it.

First I open two browser windows in Firefox. I open both to Woodworking talk. In one I begin my post. In the other I open the userCP and go to the album with the photo I want. Then I go to the actual photo. At the bottom of the photo there are two selections.

One is HTTP code and the other is IMG code.

Left click on the img code and it will highlight the entire string. Sometimes it takes more than one try.

Now switch to your post and paste the img code.

Now continue typing until you want to place another photo. Then repeat the process.

Don't simply right click on the picture from the album, open the actual picture, then left click on the code. Then switch back to your text and paste the img code.
