Ghost may be able to do better, but I can show proof of my hollowform disasters  (and that goes for my attempt to hollow out a ball for a tree ornament too!)Geez you two
I know you both can do that good or better
Thanks for this tip, I've got some steel wool but never think to use it.I used my micro mesh and wet sanded but that didnt go like i hoped but i did use extra fine steel wool between every coat
I am happy with how it turned out:yes::yes:
Could it be you're thinking of water-based versus oil-based? The directions on MinWax Water-based Polyacrylic are clear about not using steel wool (maybe it causes rust stains?)I can't do hollow forms I don't have the tools needed and if I use *** it looks like a 3 year old chimp did it. Ok why was I thinking you aren't supposed to use steel wool on ***?
Bearing in mind that I've never done this ... I think it would look good with a lid made from a pale yellow wood (maple burl, or birdseye maple, or buckeye burl) and a very dark finial (african blackwood or gabon ebony) :yes:What would you all think about a lid/finial for this?
Made from what?
