Yeah I've usually seen that style of saw as having no kerf. For doing trim work. And a hand saws. Different angles on the teeth depending on how it's used crosscut or rip. Been 30 years but if memory serves its 45 and 60 degrees.
I could see what your thoughts are though. I thought maybe if you started with a flat saw and used a kerf setting tool to set the kerf just a bit. Especially on hard wood.
