Hello everyone, new guy here with a quick question.
I recently bought a cummins lathe for duck call making, however I can't seem to find an expanding mandril for a cummins anywhere. It has a faceplate so I was going to see if there was anywhere where I could buy an expanding mandril that will screw into a faceplate?
Thanks! Sam

Hi, and welcome to the forum.
Sorry for a slow response--usually somebody answers these soon after the post.
I remember seeing some Cummins lathes at the traveling "tool" shows and remember them being spindle lathes with I think 4 speeds or so.
A picture would help. Does the face plate come off? It would leave a bolt with threads, then you'd have to see which it is---like 1:8 (one inch with 8 threads to inch) or possibly 3/4 inch with 10 threads. Once you know that it's only a matter of finding a chuck with an adapter if needed.
There are lots of chucks out there from $$ to $$$$. One place to look would be PSI Woodworking, or Lee Valley, Craft supply--long list.
