How many of you have a spot carved out in your shop for your budding woodworkers?

It’s fun to watch the boy “work”, and even though things take twice as long when he “helps” I wouldn’t trade the time for anything.

I have a bench for my 4 year old opposite of mine. He asked for, and we made, a bench hook for him this weekend. His 2 year old sister helped. With my two helpers, it took quite a while as each took a turn drilling each screw hole with an eggbeater drill, counterboring with an auger bit and brace, then driving the screw with a Yankee ratcheting screwdriver. Great fun. And now my daughter can identify by name a drill, brace and screwdriver.

I'll post a picture when I'm home. His favorite part is of course the pegboard. He organized it himself.

I finally got around to taking a picture of the kids' workbench tonight. I've forgotten many times in a row but any here it is. It's gotten a bit disorganized like the rest of the basement but he was very excited to reorganize it. Tools are all either garage sale finds or harbor freight.
