Started the base mid last year and due to a couple other projects I has to set it aside until a few days ago. It's 11 inches square walnut with a spalted maple? Poplar? Lid. Before finish

Nice box. Great contrast in the woods. Neat shape to the bowl part--makes me want to try that.

It's fantastic, Cool forms and the gorgeous woods complement each other, the finish really made those grains and figures really pop, awesome finish!
