I have an open front entertainment center from college. Its pretty much a box made of mdf, which I`ve avoided untill now. Checked with the straight edge and the top is 100% flat so I`m making it a router table and a table for planing with my router and sled. My single worry is that the under side of the top is not laminated, just bare mdf. Im worried that the waight of the mounted router along with alabama humidity will warp an unlaminated surface. Whats the experience with mdf, should I laminate it?

Yes 3/4" thick. Sounds like a good idea to add some thickness. As odd as it sounds I would like to be able to use bench dogs so will proably add an inch or two of pine to a few places that wont be occuied to a router.
