I am trying to get a new 3/16" by 115" blade on my and I can't do it. I have had several blades on it with no problem. There is a steel block right behind the blade tracking adjustment knob. It has been sticking but it is all the way down. I think this is part or all of the problem but I can't figure out how to fix it.

Thanks for any help.

Have you actually measured the blade? if its only a fraction of an inch short it wont fit.

Normally any blade can be 1/2" or so shorter or longer and there is enough adjustment to compensate for that.
You need to remove the blade and lower the adjustment knob down to the bottom to get the wheel as low as it will go.
Mark that as a reference someplace and then raise it up and lower it a few times by hand to see if it will drop down further.
It may be just sticking on the rails?
With wheel in it's lowest position, try an old blade that fits to see how much extra slack there is.
Then try your new blade and see if it's the same amount of slack ... if there's any?
If there is no slack, then your new blade is probably welded up too short.
Return it.

No way will a half inch difference still fit mine. 1/4" short and its impossible. maybe 1/2" longer?

If you're at the absolute bottom end of the adjustment then yes, the only way you can go is longer.
Have you compared it with the other blades you have? Sounds like it's just a bit short
@hawkeye10
have you looked at this page from BANDSAW BLADE EDUCATION from lagunatools.
instead of 115 it is a 3/16" X 10 TPI X 114" Laguna Proforce Scrolling Bandsaw Blade in the wrong box?
Yesterday I measured the3/16th blade and it was 115" long. That is what I ordered. Timber Wolf has helped me in the past so I called them but they were off for the holiday, so I will call them next week. I will try to put the 1/2" blade on today and measuring it. This is the blade I had on the bandsaw when I got into this mess.

Thanks for all your help, Don

What method did you use to measure? I've never needed to, seems like it could be tricky. In your situation I would lay a blade that I know fits the saw on the floor. The try laying the problem blade inside it, then outside it, you should be able to tell which is the shorter blade.

I would suggest hang the blades over a door. the narrow blade inside of the wider blade.

is there is difference and longer inside the other two should be actually increase outline because a holding it apart if it is short and you know that's for inside outside and they are the same length.

another person suggests this before.

when the lever is all the way down and pushed back that should give you greatest amount of Slack for the wheel come down and you release the tension knob to the least amount.

you should be able to lift wheel up and down freely and it should bump into on the lift when it's all way down.

this how i would go about it.

good luck
