So I am making this my temporary farewell thread to wood working talk. Cable doesn't run out to where we are moving to so it may be awhile before I get internet I reckon that I'm going to go with satellite internet. But have no fear I will remember that this is my internet home where all my brothers live. Ohh and Robert and Bassblaster I still have your addresses I haven't forgotten about you and the help that yall provided me and I will get some bodark to yall as soon as possible. Also Dave Paine, Chain carver Steve, Dominick and Kenbo thanks for all the help and advice yall have given me. Dave TTC I will still have my phone so remember to turn on your messenger on the weekends. And now just to make this about wood working so It fits into this forum my next project is going to be wall coverings for my new house. The landlord was straight forward with me and told me that he didn't want to sink a lot of money into the house but that he would help me to get it liveable so with that said I made a deal with him that If I milled up a butt ton of planks to use as wall coverings he would buy new insulation with at least an R-15 rating!!! Ok so what I am going to do Is do each room in a different type of wood ( I may actually buy some planks from the mill instead of doing it all with my chainsaw mill ). What do yall think?

Well that sucks. You might be able to go to your library. They should have computers with internet access.

I don't know about the android app but the iPad app is very easy to use. If my iPad had a camera I believe it would be easy to upload pictures. Just play with the app and you will figure it out. Also, maybe someone here uses that app and can help you. Hope you are not off too long. Good luck with the house.

Good luck with the satellite internet. We tried if for a while and it was off more than it was on. I've been on dial-up ever since I've been a member of the forum.

Well "kind of sad" is an understatement.

Satellite internet is not cheap and only one provider, Hughes the last time I looked, which was many years ago before my cable company provided broadband.

I hope you get some kind of connectivity back soon Tommie.

We will miss you.

+1

Satellite is garbage...

ESPECIALLY if you have to sign any sort of 'contract' to get it...

Go for the dial up connection. A home phone line is also useful for an alarm connection (both can be tax write-offs if the home is used for business BTW) and a LOT cheaper than the cellular alarm monitoring will be (also cheaper than the $100.00 part you 'need' to have a cellular alarm connecton).

People PC for the dialup service. Cheap (and slow) but more reliable than sat... NO contract involved...

NCA is good for alarm monitoring and makes you sign NO contract... Their prices can't be beat for the monthly monitoring.

IF they have land line phones where you're going, see about getting on DSL or even a dial up account. Cable is not the only way to reach us here. If all else fails get some carrier pigeons.

Take care and know that you will be missed.

Hi Tommie,

To get to settings for the app you should be on the home page.

Then just click your phones settings button and you'll be able to change your app settings.

Thanks!...lol.
I have a samsung galaxy s2. My settings button is on the very left next to the home button. Looks likea half sheet of paper I guess. When you want to reply in a thread, press that, and you should see some options. For quotes/thanks and such, you just need to press and hold the post in question, and you'll get more options.
