Was able to put down the flat work for a little while and make something round. Just a simple 12" poplar bowl. Enjoy.
Considering the shape and weight of the blank I started with(very big and although round, very out of balance). I opted to use tail stock support with this one. Right after that picture was taken I removed the tail stock and turned down the nub. And continued cleaning out the bowl interior. If the blank would have been a little smaller and perfectly round...tail stock support wouldn't have been necessary.Looks nice. Do you always leave the tailstock in there when cutting your bowls? Is there a benefit to doing so? Just curious as I've only done a few and I haven't used it.
