I just got a new 10" JET jointer/planer and went to set up the blades. I found that even after setting the two ends even with the outfeed table the blade seems higher in the center of the table. I'm somewhat inexperienced with a jointer and wondered if that is a normal occurence and what I need to do. It did seem the same with both blades. I would appreciate any thoughts or advice.

Try this technique for setting the blades

It's pretty simple and will tell you right off if the blades are the same height at the ends. Unless your table has a hollow in the center across the width, or the blades are convex both of which are very unlikely, it's a matter of the set up. This will show you how I do it. bill
