I had several small blanks just "laying" around, so I thought I'd finally do something in the shop. Some things lately had been consuming my time and thoughts-- but that's better.
I got 2 small mesquite dresser boxes done- one is 4 x 3 inches, other is 3 x 4 inches, used my regular friction polish.
Other dish is black walnut, lacquer- 4 x 1.5 inches. The lid is in "intensive" care and should be really nice if survives- will post later.
Have a love/hate thing wit back walnut-- Love the patterns, hate the end grain & tearouts. (YES! I have sharp tools)
Difference in pics is flash-- camera couldn't make up its mind.

Yep! That ones mesquite. Had some good sap wood for contrast.

They all look great and well finished. Like the different shapes and sizes. The grains, figures and inlays look amazing. Great work!
