Hi,
I'm having a little trouble identifying this veneer.
I thought maybe the main, 'background' veneer was walnut, I've only seen Walnut burr veneer before so its hard to know.. i'd relly appreciate any help or confirmation.
The squares&marquetry themselves look different too- if anyone had any ideas on them that would be great (boxwood for white squares??)..

The dark wood sure looks like walnut. Walnut can vary in it's dark/less dark tones. Not sure about the light wood. Box wood, maybe. Or, maple?

+1. :yes: Dark looks like Walnut, light looks like Maple.

To me the table veneer looks like walnut but the chess squares look like teak and maple.

Regardless of the wood selection, that's a good-looking piece. Hmm - I'm getting ideas!
