I use a regular old iron I bought at Goodwill for $5 and it works better than anything I have ever tried. Place some craft paper or damp cloth between the edging and material.
I read it too fast didn't see the "concave" part until I had posted. I can't offer anything more than what sky says. I have never applied edging to a concave surface. How about some pictures for us as you go?
