In the past, I have basically been running my whole shop on 2 dedicated outlets, and everytime a circuit blew, I would have to go to the other end of the house (in the basement), to reset it. I also DID NOT have any 240V outlets either.

That changed yesterday, when my father came over to help me liven up my subpanel. We also installed a 240 outlet (which I was going to need for a piece of equipment that I was getting as a birthday/early Christmas gift). We also converted a few pieces of my woodworking equipment to 240V, and WOW, what a difference it has made. Now my jointer is up to speed in no time now, where as before, as it would wind up, I always wondered if it was going to trip the breaker in that second or so it took to get to speed.

If anyone is wondering if they should run some of the equipment on 240V, I say, by all means.... Don't hesitate!

Now I have to try to make some room for the new arrival.....
