Hello all!
Newbie here and need to get some info.
I was helping with the removal of a large pine tree. Not sure what type. Anyways, while they were cutting it up the tree company graciously offered to cut me a big disc to make a table top.
I have been reading up that I should soak it in a PEG solution to avoid it cracking as it dries. However, I cannot find where to get this stuff anywhere. I live in a very rural area. The disc is about 2" thick and 2.5' in diameter and has a beautiful bark rim that I would hate to loose.
Anyone have suggestions as to how I can preserve this without it cracking from shrinking too much? I also have a stump that the disc will be placed on, so not sure if that needs to be treated as well.
Thank you!
Denise
