Hello i bought saw but iam not sure is it ripsaw.IT was really cheap like 4$ and i break it handle. Handle was plastic.But i notice when i want to do ripsawing, saw somehow inhibit into wood.LIke i dont have right direction and even wantto bounce.I wonder could this be croscutsaw.CAn you post picture what would be ripsaw

Now that is interesting. I had never really thought about what the difference is nor had I seen a drawing. Thanks.

A rip will cut across grain fine but leaves a rough cut because it is tearing the grain - like trying to plow cross grain without a nicker.

The crosscut has "fleam" so that the tooth can score the grain and cut smoother. Basically a skewed iron and nicker in one.
