A friend of mine has one of these. He calls it a squangle. It is 12" long on the long leg. To me, it's just a big protractor but he'd like to know exactly what it is called and its history. And if they are still available anywhere. There is no name on it anywhere. Can anyone help?

That is something I bet you will get a different name for it depending on the area of the country where the poster lives. For the most part I've heard those called adjustable squares.

Where Ya been Bud? Banjo playin?
Always playing banjo. I've not been able to get into the shop lately. I've been building an poutdoor kitchen behind the house. More carpentry & framing than woodworking. Also been traveling a lot for my real job. And more travel coming up. I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on retiring.
