I need to glue up a 20" wide panel ( 4 five inch boards ) and subsequently steambend the entire panel. My first attempt failed because I used Tightbond III to edge glue the 4 boards. I was able to bend the boards easily after steaming, but the high temperature caused the adhesive to fail, so I ended up with 4 perfectly bent 5" boards. What type adhesive will withstand the high temps of steambending?

maybe a Polyeurethane glue like gorillia glue??? When I worked for a (major furniture) Company that was one of the last to do In house Steam bending I don;t recall any chairs that had glued up panels prior to steambending. IIRC they glued them up after.

One of the more fun ones to watch was this one: http://www.gunlocke.com/public_html/products/guest/courthouse.html

the legs and upper back are made of a total of 3 pcs.
