Hi guys, I'm new here, I hope to learn alot from you guys as I am only 15 years old and have not gone to any kind of school for woodworking.

I started doing woodwork when I was 12 but have always loved working with wood and building things with my hands.

My Dad has tought me over the years how to work with saws and how to use different types of tools in different ways for different purposes.

Well I hope to learn alot from you guys, God bless!

Steve

Welcome Steve. Get some books by Sam Maloof, James Krenov, George Nakashima, and Tage Frid for starters.

These guys will open your mind to so many possibilities and stlyes. Not that you can't be positively influenced by the craftsman right down the street either.

Good to see youth interested in something mor ethan video games.

First item I made was a stool at school to learn about rebating and morticing. I remember my grandmother asking if she could borrow it for use as a footstool. I was so pleased. Next item was a fire screen in oak.
The pride and pleasure you get from creating such things is tremendous.
