Hi, we love the way Grothouse build their walnut countertop and got our local millwork to make us one.

Now that it is ready, we need some help in picking the finish that would match Grothouse's.

After much research, we thought about using BLO followed by sanding sealer and SherWood CAB Acrylic Lacquer. What do you all think? Are we heading in the right direction? We are afraid of messing the table up.. didnt have any extra material from the millwork.

Well first of all if you wish to use the Cab-Acrylic Lacquer you shouldn't use sanding sealer. A vinyl sealer is recomended for Cab-Acrylic. Other than that it would work. A more durible finish would be a fully catalized lacquer. Personally I would probably go with a conversion varnish.
