Hello!

Our deck is looking a little rough with some boards needing to be replaced before we clean and re stain the entire deck, but we’re having a hard time identifying the type of wood used.

can anyone identify this wood?

The deck is probably pressure treated pine but I think the railing is western cedar. You might run the screws in a little deeper and rent a floor sander to refinish the deck. Other than the lack of finish it looks like it's in pretty good condition. The railing I think I would replace the top board or at least put a wider piece of 3/4" over the top.
