Hi everyone

I have little to no experience woodworking, I'm interested in learning some skills so I can make a few pieces of furniture for myself (computer desk, head board, end tables).

I have access to a fair amount of woodworking tools, some my own and some not.

My screen name comes from feeling like I may be setting goals way beyond my means to achieve in any reasonable amount of time. That said, hopefully with some advice here I'll be able to give a few projects a try and have some degree of success.

Thanks!

Welcome aboard. Nice to see someone else from the west coast, where abouts? I'm from Sacramento, Ca. Not exactly the coast, but close. :)

Welcome from NH and take baby steps.

Like I tell most new woodworkers, start by building a few shop projects like simple benches and storage units. Graduate to workstations with more challenging joinery.

Don't throw out the cut offs... use them to practice joinery.

You will never stop making mistakes but you will learn to hide them...

Know your tools and the wood - and most important - have fun
