Just joined and thought I would stop in and say hi. My latest thing is sawing up mesquite and making boxes from it.

Hi OldGuy and welcome to the forum! So you have a sawmill? How large of logs do you get from a mesquite tree?

I saw a mequite table on the web a few weeks ago and thought that wood looks great. Hard to come by around here.

Howdy Oldguy. I just recently "discovered" some acerages of Mesquite here in Fannin County, where little to none was thought to grow. Even the USDA agent was shocked and he knows the county as well as any old timer.

Thanks for the kind welcome. I don't have a sawmill, just my trusty chainsaw, 16" Laguna Bandsaw and 3 teenage sons to help lift the bigger logs.

I will post some pics as soon as I get a new camera. Hopefully Santa will bring me a new one, as my old one is no longer working.
