Hi .

this is my first trip to a woodwork forum.

My grandfather made it his profession from the 1930's thru the 1970.

He was from Baltimore and lived in southeast New Jersey.
I have a lot of his works he did by hand.

Left a lifetime impression on me.

I do have a grandfather clock from New York and quite likely made around 1890 or so.

Welcome Stuart. My brother lives in the Tampa area. He called yesterday to rub it in that it was single digits here (central Illinois, where we were born and raised) He said he was out fishing and it was only 70, and with the breeze felt a little chilly . It is exactly 0 degrees here right now.

thanks all.

Jon Bell, my pics will come [know how], brother.....Got loads of my grandfather units to brag here. It'll be dandy......I have the passion I just need the space and tools. Plus the knowlege from you guys.
looking forward to getting the ideas and facts on how. This is common ground for me here.
And Jon my wife 's family is from the areas of Warren, Sterling Heights and Centerline, Michigan. Been to Detroit and other areas of Michigan many times. Lots and lots of Michigan vistiors to florida.
It's a little nippy today as the breezes makes it colder than it really is.
Wore a jacket to work this morning and thought I should have brought my gloves as well.

For us west central Floridians it will be another 4-6 weeks of cold or very cool weather then the love of Spring arrives.

Daren for fishing it's best to just head out to the Gulf where it is warmer and bigger fishes.
Your brother is right it was 70. We will have very nice strawberries come March and April becuz we've had cool [but not cold] weather as of now. We only had one cold snap. We've also gotten a bit of rain.
We had snow bits northeast of here a few weeks ago. Not much to tool with.

thanks again and looking forward to the woodshop, brothers.

Thanks for the greetings, Cabinetman..

I was born as raised here in the Sunshine state [btw the sun is shining today, thank god]

I love woodwork [it's all in my passion], thou. I've yet done any projects from the get - go.
But thanks to my Grandfather the passion will never leave me.

I have big plans for myself! I want to be one of those expert craftsman before I retire years and years from now.

Florida seems to be a nice place to do all this !!!
