I wish I could help you out there cousin, but I think the shipping rates would put us in debtor's prison which is of course one of the reasons we Yanks bugged out on ya and left the farm!

I just cut a whole whack of them buggers last week. Have more to cut too, but I know that don't help you any.

Is it hard to come by over there? I don't have enough of the stuff to fill a container and that's probably what it takes to make a shipment profitable. I could ship you about 4000 - 5000 BF (next year) though. Let's make a deal! :icon_wink:

I've purchased some lumber from Hearne Hardwoods in Pennsylvania. I just called them and they said they will ship overseas, but it is quite expensive. They have to have an agent from the FDA come and inspect the wood before it leaves and that alone is $200.00.
She was tickled as she said the Americans are always looking for European walnut and the Brits want the American stuff...go figure.
Anyway, the site is :
http://www.hearnehardwoods.com/xcart/home.php
They have an international number at the top of the page.
Good luck and if you need any more help..holler.

The folks at Wall Lumber here in North Carolina have a special going for walnut, $340 for 100 bd-ft rough. http://www.walllumber.com/special/Featured.asp. (Someone posted it on my experimental "hot deals" page a few days ago - at http://plans.thefrankes.com/deals.)

I don't know about shipping overseas, though. Wouldn't hurt to ask by shooting an email to [email protected]. Depending on what you need and the demand in your area, it might be worth it to strike a deal with TexasTimbers! Just ask them to drop of some boards on their way over to your place ;) We are on the way, you know. =)
