Hello,

I’m decently new to woodworking and I live in the Baltimore area. I am trying to find a store to buy hardwood in my area. I’m not exactly ready to buy for a certain project but I want to be prepared to move out of buying wood from Home Depot or using wood out of my fathers garage. I know there is “Exotic Lumber” in Annapolis and “Fredrick Lumber Company” in Fredrick but both are definitely out of the way. So I’m wondering if any of the Maryland folks know of any other places. Thanks for your time.

I wish I could help. The only places I know of are the ones you’ve mentioned. If you haven’t been to Exotic Lumber yet, it might be worth a trip. It’s not that far from Balt. They have an amazing selection of lumber and as the name implies, much of it is exotic. They also have plenty of domestic lumber too.
