Hall Bench

I've been working on this Hall Bench for my son and his wife. It is going to be a house warming gift for the new house they just built. I also wanted a piece that would be considered a keepsake for generations to come. The top will have three mirrors and three coat hooks in the top when it is done. I will post more pictures when I'm done.

Absolutely beautiful. They will love it.....................and you!
That's pretty nice.
What keeps the seat in place? Hard to tell from the pics.
Flush hinges on the back and the front just rests on the front board. I don't attach it until after I varnish it.

Are the inside of the panels plywood or solid wood? If it is plywood, it looks like a very good grade.
The inside panels are A1 grade from a local lumber yard. I finally found a source other then Menards.

Final Product

Here is the final project. Was a fun project and once again learn several things during the construction. Can't wait to give it to my son and his wife.

Congrats it turned out great!! I can see you got one mirror installed.
All three mirrors were installed it is just showing my furnace behind me. I placed the mirrors in, in a way that they can be easily taken out and my son can put pictures of his children in if they want.
Excellent build on that gorgeous hall bench. Like the style, wood and finish. A family heirloom for sure that will be enjoyed by many generations.
Very Nice, I always liked hall benches and tree's. Again really great job
