As per the recommendation to introduce oneself, hello to all from gibby macmaster in pennsylvania, wood butcher for many a year.
Found this forum via google while researching wenge and it's bendable properties...that is, I wish to steam bend wenge for a contemporary fireplace mantle. The length is approximately 6 feet, the width 8 inches, the radius of the bend a gentle 11 feet, and the stock is 4/4. Could anyone who has bended wenge offer any input or advice? Does it bend easily and maintain shape? Is steam the best method?
Thank you for any and all responses.
