to begin, my son has a mild form of autism. when diagnosed I honestly thought he would never be able to join me in any of my hobbies, hunting, fishing and recently woodworking. he has proved me wrong on so many points. he is 7 years old and we just came in from the garage. we picked up an old beat up dresser free from craigslist, I had him glue and clamp a couple of the damaged drawers, sand the surface and apply the first coat of paint (he wants it camo to match the boat) I am so proud to be able to teach him these skills and watch his attitude afterward, his pride in telling mom all the things he did to his dresser it really puts a new perspective on things.

so I guess what I am saying is no matter what difficulties your kids have or even their age get them involved I find it more rewarding than anything I could ever create.
