My name is David but everyone calls me DNX. I am a carpenter in Australia. I've been in construction for almost 8 years now. I used to have an office job, but I had an epiphany (Divorce) and decided to pursue something I loved. My grandfather was a tinkerer and thats where the passion hit me. Lately I've found what actually enjoy is woodworking rather than carpentry. I've moved over from the east coast of Australia (gold coast) and I'm chasing the money over west. In doing so I've fallen in love with a little town called Kununurra.

Very recently (last week) I broke my leg playing rugby. Snapped it in half, this comes after having finally going out and starting my own business in construction, only a week prior.
So I'll have a little extra time to work on projects and will probably try to make a few pieces to sell for income.

I love everything that is timber or woodworking and also just general tinkering. I don't have anything I'm particularly good at, but I do want to focus on recycled timber work and restoration (read as no money to spend on materials) thankfully I've amassed many tools over the years. So I have almost everything I need. Apart from a thicknesser and bandsaw.

Currently I'll be starting off on a few easy projects as my workshop is the back of my car, my trailer and a bit of driveway space

Happy woodworking to all of you
May your chisels stay sharp and your lumber dry !

Sorry to read of your injury and happy to have you join us. Please understand there may be few minor misunderstanding because of terminology. I assume your "thicknesser" is my planer or thickness planer as some call it. Well get over it... welcome friend
