Hi All,

I have a Galaxy 1412 bench top drill press. I'd like to upgrade the chuck to a Jacobs. I have looked around and could not find a definitive answer. I'm very happy with it so far.

Thanks for any help in advance!

Tony

Grizzly wil know!

The helpful folks at Grizzly will know what your drill press has AND will have an adapter if you need one. They are very inexpensive:

They will also have a precision Jacobs chuck as listed above.

It appears to be made in Canada ... hey?

My arbor does not appear to be removable. There is no slot in the tube to allow a wedge tool to pop out the arbor. I would like to replace the arbor too, because it has some wear and buildup.

There is nothing on my press to indicate any Canadian connection...

OK, I have the answer. My taper is a 6JT and I bought a Jacobs chuck and it fits great. The old chuck was a Victor 7110 13mm and some other numbers, F12 HTM. store that wherever you want. Hopefully it will help other people in their quest for knowledge!
