I inherited a Foley-Belsaw 3hp 220V planer-moulder. I don't have 220 in my shop, and I really don't have the space in my shop for a tool that I don't see myself using enough to justify the floor space. It hasn't been run since my father-in-law died 6 years ago. Can you guys give me any advice on what I should ask if I decided to sell this? It's a model 985 12", bought in 1988.

And am I making a mistake by thinking of selling it?

I got a couple of quotes to run the 220 - both were around $250. That would pay for a good chunk of the bandsaw I'd like to get. And selling the planer would help even more ;-)

So you see my quandary...

No, it's in my shop. No 220 there, although it could be done. I have a panel, and both electricians who looked at it thought there was enough juice coming in. I just need to decide - either keep it, and run the 220, or sell it and free up the floor space. I understand that these are useful for more than just planing, so maybe I need to learn more about it before deciding.
