Look well made, but there's no room on the lower step. Essentially, it's a one step stool to the top step. My wife couldn't use it, as she couldn't step to the top from the floor.

Thanks for the input. I thought the same when I saw the design. The pics make it look worse than it is. However when you actually use it, there is no problem stepping up. BTW I just noticed I’ve got the bottom step flipped around 😳.
I would like to see the step protrude more and more splay to the legs. The fact it pivots in one point limits how far the step can protrude. A mod I thought about was route a slot for the step pin rather than a pivot hole. The height of the top rail seems good for holding when on the top step, but is flexy.
It was fun seeing if I could make poplar look like cherry. I rather think I’ve failed.
