OK everyone I've got a question for you.I just completed the finish on my first coffee table.I used Behlen Rockhard table top varnish.Satisfied with the results, just want to know what will keep it looking good.
The finish won't really need anything for a long time. After a couple of years you might wax it with a paste wax annually to moisturize the finish. For now any furniture polish for dusting is all I would use.
What you have there is a stand alone finish that needs no further maintenance. Wax will do very little for protection, and whatever aesthetic appeal it may provide, won't last very long. IMO, it won't do much for "revitalizing" the finish, or adding "moisture", as the finish is hard and sealed. Adding wax will preclude doing any further finishing if the occasion arises. Removing the wax is a PITA.
