My first pens, all finished with linseed and ca. Some of the wood I got from an assorted exotic cut offs box, so I don't know what the wood is on a few. I did try a black palm blank but that was disastrous. From left to right:
1. unknown exotic
2. unknown exotic
3. bloodwood
4. unknown exotic
5. afzelia burl
6. curly maple
7. tulipwood
8. zebrawood

#1 looks like could be cocobolo or maybe kingwood. #2 could be canarywood, but a little too much glare to tell for sure. #4 looks like bocote. Very nice job on your first ones. After reading all the posts here I must be the only penmaker not using CA as a finish...just can't stand the smell/stinging eyes from the fumes. Plus like the feel of wood with a good waxed finished...doesn't feel plastic to me.

Nice job on them. Nice variety of woods you used. Have you tried any of the other pen kits that are available?
