I have finally finished my first furniture build a TV stand. It is red oak dyed with antique cherry. I experimented with several new techniques and learned a lot. Here is a list of what I learned from this build.

1- my shop is not big enough for this size of a project
2- my jointer limits the size of wood I can work with
3- drawers are as hard to mount has I fought they would be
4- my shop has really bad lighting

5- dying wood is not for the novice

That is beautiful. I started to show my wife, but then I realized she wants me to make one. So, she's not gonna see yours.

+1.

I think you did a very good job and the learning is just as important as the completion of a project. The item might be given away, sold, or recycled in the future; however, what you learn will stay with you and help your next project. : )

Good job 100%

Wife's requests = More tools!

Looks great, and really fits in well there.

I feel you on the lights. Makes it really hard to finish when you can't see it well. Right now I am hanging light fixtures and running conduit, wire now in my garage for extra lighting. Going to have an electrician add to my panel and tie it all in. Also might have them add 220 while they are at it.
