What a gorgeous piece of work!! I have a little experience in ebonizing..used vinegar and oak bark. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't go that route..dye, spray cans of paint etc.

Ebonizing…. White vinegar and iron (steel wool, old rusty nails) throw it together and let it sit in a container for a couple days then brush it on black walnut or any other wood with a high tannic acid content and it turns the wood black...

yes, it does not cover it just changes the color of the wood….very cool.
